Installation FAQs

What does the installation process involve?

Our installation process includes:

Initial site assessment and system location planning

a. Insure electrical and drain lines can be installed
b. Check power availability. Does an electrical line need to be updated or relocated.

Installing the outdoor unit on a secure mounting pad or bracket

Installing the indoor unit(s) at the optimal location(s)

Running refrigerant lines, drain lines, and electrical connections between units

Pressure testing the system

Pulling a vacuum on the system to remove moisture

Releasing refrigerant and testing system operation

Final cleanup and system demonstration

Do I need a permit for mini split installation?

Yes, most jurisdictions require both electrical and mechanical permits for mini split installations. As your installer, we handle the entire permitting process, including obtaining necessary permits and scheduling required inspections. This ensures your installation meets all local building codes and safety requirements.

What kind of warranties are included?

Your mini split system comes with two types of warranties:

Manufacturer's warranty - typically 10 years on parts when registered

Our labor warranty - we provide a 2-year warranty on all installation work. This covers any issues related to the installation process. We also offer extended warranty options for additional peace of mind

How much wall damage should I expect during installation?

We minimize wall damage through careful planning and professional installation techniques. Typically, we only need to create:

A 3-inch hole for the line set bundle

Small holes for mounting brackets All penetrations are properly sealed and weatherproofed. If any additional repairs are needed, we'll discuss this during the initial assessment.

What maintenance is required after installation?

Regular maintenance includes:

Monthly filter cleaning

Keeping outdoor unit clear of debris

Annual professional maintenance check which includes:

○ Coil cleaning
○ Checking refrigerant levels
○ Inspecting electrical connections
○ Verifying proper operation We provide detailed maintenance instructions and offer maintenance plans.

How long does installation take?

Installation time varies by system size:

Single zone systems typically take 1 day

Multi-zone systems (2-4 zones) usually take 1-2 days

Larger or more complex installations will have a custom timeline based on scope. We'll provide a specific timeline during your consultation.

Will the outdoor unit be noisy?

Modern mini split outdoor units are designed to operate quietly, typically around 55-65 decibels (similar to normal conversation). We carefully place outdoor units to minimize noise impact and can install additional sound dampening if needed.

How do you ensure proper system sizing?

We perform a detailed load calculation considering:

Room dimensions

Window size and location

Insulation levels

Local climate data

Heat-generating appliances

Room usage patterns. This ensures your system is properly sized for optimal efficiency and comfort.

What preparation is needed before installation?

To prepare for installation:

Clear access to installation areas

Remove valuable or fragile items from work areas

Ensure electrical panel is accessible

Clear space around outdoor unit location. We'll provide a detailed preparation checklist before installation day.

Are there any hidden costs I should know about?

Our quotes include all standard installation costs: permits, materials, labor, and cleanup. Additional costs might only occur for:

Electrical panel upgrades if required

a. Electrical panel upgrades if required

Extensive wall repairs if needed

Custom mounting solutions for unique situations. We'll discuss any potential additional costs during the initial assessment.
