ADU & guest house mini splits · DFW
One system for the whole guest house.
ADUs, casitas and garage apartments don't need a full central system. A right-sized Mitsubishi heat pump heats and cools the whole space, and you can hide it entirely with a ducted unit.

Single open room
A studio or open-plan casita is often one wall mount or a 4-way cassette in the ceiling center.
Multi-zone
Separate bedrooms get their own heads on one outdoor unit, each with its own thermostat.
Ducted (ceiling concealed)
Nothing on the walls: a slim air handler above the ceiling feeds short duct runs to grilles in each room.

Questions we hear a lot
What size mini split does an ADU need?
A tight, well-insulated 400 sq ft studio can run on 9,000 to 12,000 BTU. A two-bedroom ADU usually needs 24,000 BTU or more split across zones. Insulation and windows matter as much as square footage.
Ducted or ductless for a guest house?
Ductless wall mounts cost less and are simpler to install. Ducted (ceiling concealed) units hide everything and suit multi-room layouts. Both are Mitsubishi heat pumps; we'll recommend one at the site visit.
Can one outdoor unit serve every room?
Yes. A Mitsubishi multi-zone outdoor unit can run several indoor heads, each controlled separately.
Will it handle a Texas winter?
Yes. Mitsubishi heat pumps heat efficiently through DFW winters, and hyper-heat models keep heating well below freezing.
